Having organised and hosted many corporate events during my career, I know they are incredibly tricky to get right. Your audience will all have different reasons for attending and it’s difficult to keep everyone fully engaged, especially for an entire day.
I’ve worked for big and small businesses for over 20 years and organised, spoken at and sat through hundreds of corporate events. Some good, and some so bad that jumping out the nearest window seemed like the best option. There is nothing worse than seeing your audience bored out of their minds in the first hour, sleepy after lunch and desperate to leave in the afternoon.
Therefore, my aim for all my talks is to inject a bit of life into your corporate event. That may sound like the dreaded ‘forced fun’. But don’t worry with all my years experience sitting through that type of event, I’m acutely aware that making the audience feel engaged and comfortable is much more important than getting them to build a kayak out of Lego (I don’t do this).
Whether it’s after dinner speaking on a topic of your choosing, a presentation or even a series of workshops during a day event. I’m very flexible.
Who have I worked for?
Businesses that have hired me for talks and workshops for include Sky, Stagecoach, Progeny and Lord’s Taverners. I also work alongside the events company Copa, who provide a full end-to-end solution for creating and running events.
Before I became an author, I was a journalist and editor, as well as holding senior positions in marketing and communications. So whether your audience needs help with the ‘power of storytelling’ or ‘how to communicate’, or perhaps something utterly irreverent, then why not get in touch with me via my contacts page to discuss your ideas.
