Llama United has muscled its way on to the longlist for the Big Book Award at the 2018 Shrewsbury Bookfest.
A total of 56 books have made it on to the list, so it will be a hard fight making it down to the final six. However, it’s amazing just to even be part of the 56.
Pupils from seven primary schools are tasked with reading the longlist and their feedback will form the essential basis for drawing up a shortlist of just 6 books that will be distributed across Shropshire schools in December.
Rumours that Llama United is being considered for a Nobel Prize are yet to be confirmed.
Four other book from Macmillan Children’s are on the list, which include Tender Earth, The Last Duchess, A Girl Called Owl and The Misfits by the excellent Kieran Crowley.
