I regularly do talks and workshops at primary schools, libraries, festivals, corporate events and other places, in front of big and small audiences.

I usually talk about llamas, football, unicorns, food, books and anything else that pops into my, or my audience’s, heads.

If you are a business and want to learn about my corporate public speaking events then go here. If you are a school teacher, festival organiser, librarian or any other fun job then keep reading.

My talks are loud, interactive and hopefully bursting with creativity. I want children to get involved in the presentation and hopefully it will inspire them to:

1) to spark lots of creative thought

2) to read more books

3) become interested in writing

4) realise that you can do anything if you put your mind to it

5) have fun

6) avoid doing school work for a hour or more

If you want a statuesque author who is going to bore your pupils to sleep, reading chunks from their book, then I’m not the writer for you. For me the audience is the star of the show.

Reluctant reader

As a reluctant reader in my own childhood, I know what it’s like to be a boy who is only interested in sport and gaming. Nowadays there are still plenty of children only interested in sport and gaming, perhaps I can get them out from behind a screen… even if it’s just for fifteen minutes.

I usually do talks for key stage two children and the bigger the audience the better. As long as everyone wants to get involved in the fun then we are on to a winner.

I can also do corporate talks to adults, specialising in the power of presentations. The perfect antidote for that dull session after lunch where everyone either wants to go home or is ready for a little sleep.

How to get in contact with me for talks

If you are running an event or work at a primary school and want me to come along and do a talk please get in touch via my contact page.

I’m also offering online sessions through Authors Aloud. Here’s a short clip of me trapped in the loft talking about what my events entail.

Here’s some pics from some of the events I’ve done so far.
